Let's Get Serious

Unless Indigo is rolling the largest troll that I've seen in a while, I think the message is to "get serious, and get involved..." Uh... except in cases where you shouldn't concern yourself, and I'm still trying to find the boundaries... ahem DIGRESSION!

SO, things I'd like to see happen to improve the ZM side of things, since it seems that Gmod has its own well developed staff:

1) Complete map listing for both SS:ZM servers, possibly for the admin playground, if it even exists anymore
Y) This will let us, through the polite begging, pandering, and bumkissing, better tailor the maplist on each server. If there were a way to incorporate usage statistics, we could see which maps were the most played. We could separate the maps into a 24/7 "minigame" server and a "straight" server. (Really, who didn't like bomberman in the recent deathrun event?)

2) No more Admin abuse. At all. Seriously. No more flying cars, ducks, vending machines, barrels, cookies, etc.; no more turning people into striders, computers, "midget zombies", and so forth; no more rotating people, map objects, or zombies; No more silly votes, team-swap for point-farm. No more map glitching. No more deegas. No more bah er ies. And we all know the location by now.
Y) When admins start playing loose and reckless with the rules, it encourages other people to play loose and reckless with the rules. I think the reason why the majority of players break rules and then spit in the administration's face is because they have seen senior members break the rules and get away with it.

I'd particularly like to remind all the admins of RULE 10: DON'T IGNORE PLAYER RULES. Unless the MOTD changes, admins on the ZM server should not be doing half the things they ARE doing. Yes, this is in direct contrast to [ƒcƒc] rule #5 and, of course, #9. It would probably be a nice thing to include in the MOTD that Indigo is a god and it would probably be helpful if she put her tag and clan name on. I'd particularly like to avoid this situation especially when Indigo is in this sort of mood... *hides under a rock*

3) Start following the clan rules.
Y) Cuz we're in a goddamn clan. Put your tag on, use your registered clan name. Troll the non ƒcƒc's, troll the ƒcƒc's harder.

4) Communicate.
Y) Because without proper communication, nothing will get done. Need help on a map? Ask in the map thread. Want help coding new features? Ask. Want new features? Ask and be prepared to help however you can. Don't know what to do? Ask what can be done. If you don't speak up, you won't be heard. You can't expect wondrous teamwork when nobody's talking to each other.

5) Have a presence.
Y) If you're only on one of the SS servers or game modes, people won't know who you are if you don't show up to the other server. If you can't make an appearance on a server because you don't own the mod or you don't like the mod, post in the forum so people know you exist. Don't use lots of alternate names. Up until about 3 days ago, I had no idea Seraphim Silver was the same person as Indigo. You can't take on the mask of a player and expect to be treated like an admin. You can't take off your [ƒcƒc] tag and expect to be treated like a clan member. You can't go away for a year, and then be surprised when people don't know who you are and don't care how much of an oldfag you are. If you leave and come back, you're a newfag again.

New Rules have been put into place for most of this stuff, escpecially involving activity. i recommend go checking them now

I'll actually follow most of these rules, but occasionally I think some admin fun doesn't harm anybody so that's not totally out the window. However, I believe playing like normal players for a normal round is right, so I'll change my habits a bit.

How about no.
It was dumb and people complained about getting "abused" while playing there.

I personally don't think, bringing back the admin playground would do much good.
No one hardly ever played it when we had it.

And with abuse, i personally have become more lenient with admins.
I don't mind as much anymore if they abuse. As long as they don't overdo, a little abuse even can help populate the server.

Take Acid as example. The second people see he is in ZM, they join too.
And as soon as he leaves, they leave too.
And that's not because his name is so cool.
Nope.

And in this cases, of "admin abuse" helping with populating a server, im totally fine with it, and even support it.

So I'm not really sure with that abuse rule.
Admins can make the game more fun for everyone. Some can.
Think of MiniGames, too. How are we supposed to have Duckie Rounds, without a duckie?


But then. I've probably already said more than necessary here again. And you guys will do fine and im not worried.
