Suggestions

I have 4 of them. Please feel free to criticize them as you see fit:

1) We need a Suggestions board so I wont have to put suggestions in the wrong categories all the time and we can get clan members' input on many things.(Thank you IdahoPirate for being so awesome!)

2) I think the 80 hour requirement is a bit much! I know the rule was made for people who are serious about the clan and play ZM a lot, but I think an appropriate playtime requirement should be similar the GMod RP server "Respected Status": 2 days or around 40-50 hours.

3) I think it would be cool if we had a sort of admin "happy hour"! So one day of the week, we have an admin abuse time between certain peak time hours. I've seen it done on other servers and people seemed to have a good time(though I'm not sure Indigo would approve of this). I'm only suggesting this because the admin playground is never online and I think admin abuse problems would lessen if they had some time of the week we're they can just fool around. But of course, admins would still have to make the game playable for all other players!

4) Change the AFK timer to about 5 min! I just want this changed because I'm always kicked whenever I take out the garbage in the evening During peaks hours, admins can kick afk players to let others in.

2) I disagree, the 80 hour requirement is fine, and it's made so that you have sort of an achievement for playing that long, and it also reduces the chance of the new member joining of quitting ZM altogether.

3) Well, there aren't really any rules of Admin abuse, just to have some sort of self control.

4) I have mixed feelings. I agree that the time could be increased, but I have the feeling that there was a reason behind the timer being at that low of a period.

2) Not so sure on this one, i think 80 hours is a little too high. Maybe 60 - 70 hours.

4) 5 mins is too long but i agree that afk timer needs to be extended a little.

To the naysayers of the 2nd suggestion, you have to realize that a lot of potential members(cool fun people we as a clan have played with; well the ones who played anyways) are turned off(bad choice of words but reinforces my point) by that condition. I think 50 hours is a solid amount of playtime for anyone wanting to be part of the clan. And I'm sure some people joined [ƒcƒc] without fulfilling that requirement. But w/e!

300 seconds is just enough time to come back before being kicked(I once went for a leak and got kicked from SS :( ) Some servers have like crazy afk timers like 8-10 minutes! I think 5 minutes is a good amount of inactivity!

And as I mentioned before, if the server gets crowded, admins (or even players collectively) can still kick the inactive player(s).

And to me Panda's post sounded like he was just stating again the he thinks the afk timer should be set to 5 minutes.
I think the lowest required playing time should be 60 hours at least.
Admin abuse hour ...I dunno about that. Admin playground was not the biggest success.

I didn't even realize you guys want something with the AFK kick thingie done.

Well. Point is: That afk kicker is one of Sammy's old relics (plugins)

And i no has it's sources, so i can't easily change stuffs there.
I'd prolly have to re-code it entirely.
Not a big deal i think. However. It is extra work. Keep that in mind.

So uh. The afk-timer thingie. I realize it's not working as intended.
It actually has a CVAR even, for the time one can go afk before they get kicked.
But for some reason it doesn't want to work too well.

And i can't really tell why, without the source code.
Maybe one of you guys will know more and can shed some light on this for me. (my apologies, however, im highly sceptical about that.)

1) has clearly been resolved.
2) I didn t know this rule existed, but 80 hours is nothing, i could do that in a week.
3) No qualms here. Although, noone went on admin playground ever, and it is at a schedueled time, people might just avoid playing at that time.
4) But having such a short timer is part of the fun, it is like a race everytime you need to leave to go do something. Like bolting to take a leak, then running back without washing your hands because you don t want to get kicked. ^^

2) 80 hours is good enough. I've had it with people who just started playing zm, apply for the clan and leave because "zm got boring".

3) No. Don't. Ever. Admin abuse is just plain annoying and should never be accepted. It's just stupid.

4) A more dynamic AFK-kick system would have been nicer.
Lets say; No AFK timer when there's 5 or less people on the server (To make people join) and make it auto-enable when there 6 or more on the server.

i like the idea of this. Very well thought of

it can be fun really. And i certainly know all sides of it now.
First the regular, normal player that gets abused by Sammy a lot.
(I always thought it fun, and even was proud when i managed to survive Sammy's props the longest. I remember i made it through his spam on croc and he got pissed with it, so he just teleported me into death xD)

So yeah. We will certainly have to talk more about this 3) Admin Abuse thing.


and to 4) I agree. I even think the plugin is supposed to be more dynamic like Fucia describes it.
However, it seems to fail a lot.
And since i wasnt aware since yesterday, that the Sammy made his sources there public, i never checked into the afk kicker plugin yet.


So if anyone has solid suggestions what exactly to change within the sources, to make it more dynamic or even work better.

Feel free to send me in your source codes, and ill see what i can do to add your fixes.

First off, Let me say Sorry for not making a new topic. I am not able to due to me just making this account, but I do have one suggestion for the server that I wanted to put out there.

The Bets Menu- I believe that it can be annoying when you spawn and go to switch weapons and you accidentally bet 20 of your bonus and 1 of your upgrade on a random player. To fix this or improve upon it I believe making it not show up on spawn or simply adding a Confirmation to the bet saying "Are you sure? 1.Yes 2.No" , would be very beneficial.

Once again, sorry about not having a new topic.

I suggest we revive this forum.
