Where do we go from here?

Well guys and gals, and something in between, were pretty damn dead. Lets face it.
BUT
were not giving up.
We need to decide now, what our future will be. Were just beating a dead horse here. i think its time we reform.

But we need to know how and what.
What game?
How?
What will it be like?

come on guys i need every single last one of who who at least cares a bit about this clan to post here. just give your ideas about what we can do. Game suggestions are the most welcome.

No one plays Situation Outbreak at all. It's a fine game, but I still prefer ZM over it since the maps are waaaay more fun. But the maps in Outbreak are pretty eerie and scary.

Still no one plays Outbreak anymore.

I sense as though if I mention TF2 I will get flamed and yelled at, except that I enjoy the TF2 community.

For S:O ...the last version I played was terribly laggy.

I hate the TF2 community. I just like the game. (Except UKCS. Them r purdi nice)

I think Situation Outbreak is a great mod, but i agree that it has none (or very few) people playing it. I'll post a list of possible games/mods that we could expand into when ive had a think and looked around.

Those are good games you bring up that I had not thought about, and games that should be considered, since they're very good.

Since Idaho asked me yesterday, (and I guess I do have some minute personal ..... attachment to this forum.) I shall brainstorm I suppose.

I agree with doing away with the recruitment limitations (please please keep the feedback part. Don't just accept because one person goes "oh I love them and I'm sure you'll love them too". Keep some form of discussion and democracy in it.)

If we're brainstorming new games, I'd move on from hl2 modifications. The majority of them are old, almost dead as well. (well, deader than ZM anyway.)

ZP:S is a fun game, it's what allowed me to meet a friend, who showed me ZM. etc etc. Going on the path of dead though.

SO is a meh game IMO. I didn't' like it, some people did. was nearly dead when I played it (nearly a year ago).

LOTRO is a good game, I play it myself, gets a tad grind-y at times, but it doesn't detract from the game play. More people would most likely draw me back, as I have no one in my level range to party up with.

I won't bore you with my game suggestions, I merely suggest leaning away from source based mods, as they are slowly but surely dying out.

There aren't really many alternatives to source engine mods, are there?
I can't think of any other engine that is this highly mod-able, like Valves' Source Engine is.
Doesn't mean there are none, it just means idk them.

And what we should maybe consider too, is the fact we already have some good knowledge about everything Source Engine in this clan.
We have Psycho, who has some decent knowledge about mapping, and modelling / skinning / texturing.
Then we have Pink, who has some good model knowledge too, and knows how to Hex edit models and knows much more stuffs about everything source engine.
And we have (had) some more mappers, like Taters, and people with knowledge about other stuffs, like Game Zombie has.
And finally some good amount of coding and server operating experience with Source Engine, through me.

So that's a good basis for a clan. If we now move to other games, we're nothing but a group of people who play and can't customize things much for our clans' needs / desires.

Just a few thoughts, i was throwing in here.


As for game suggestions, i could list a few i was thinking of playing. (no source engine ones, i know im silly)

WoW - friends of mine here are running a blizz-like private server, i joined them and played a bit.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein : Enemy Territory (not the Quake Wars crap) - old objective based team vs team WW2 fps, and still good + very fun. Im currently trying to get a dedicated server running for it on the box. It has an rpg like upgrade system, and classes/perks and loads of fun when played together with a good team of people. Which we could have here, a nice group of people we like playing with in a team. (+ we would make an amazing team, we have some good gamers here + and can have vent/teamspeak)

I use to play on a WoW server, the only reason I quit is cause no one ever talked in guilds, which I guess I should come to expect, but when I played with Teh Idiot, Apostrophe, Idaho, and a few others, man was it fun. Teaching everybody how to set it up was very tedious though.

I would love to play WoW once again, or give a try to LotR.

Alright so i'm gonna download the WWII game and give it a go. As for the other suggestions. I would be cool with a blizzlike WoW private server as long as it's not cataclysm as that's why i quit retail. LOTRO I would be willing to try as it looked alright from what I remember.

I do agree with the source mods becoming outdated and all that jazz... though I would still be willing to try something new if there was anything i haven't tried <.>

For my suggestions I'm just gonna spit a few games I feel would be kinda cool for this clan, even knowing that some people will/do hate them:

Runescape - Haha, just thought i'd put this up for lulz. It's a pretty good game every now and then if you're into that sort of game (which i know alot of people aren't).

Earth Special Forces: A dragon ball z mod that I found pretty fun because i used to love the show and still love the games. If you add the ECX RC2 pack you get tons more characters, transformations and it's free of course (hl2 mod but in third person, fast paced combat and such)

Battlefield: Bad company 2 :: Simply loved that game, it is 20 bucks american, but It's probably one of the best fps shooters out there. It's got alot of realism to it which is what I look for unlike shitty ass CoD's (i liked world at war though)

Zombie Panic: Source: Someone mentioned this, but I think if we got a clan server it'd be pretty fun. Nuff said.

Sven Co-op: Pretty much half life 1 but co-op. With optional upgrades. You go through maps that people made from what i remember as a team. Loved the game but it's pretty dead nowadays. :c
