Bioshock 2

Bioshock 2 is now officially the best game i've ever played.

Bioshock 1 held that title up until now, but the insanely immersive environment of BS2 had me feeling like i was a real part of the game, like i was actually the main character in question.

Not to mention i played it on hard mode, which kept me hopping from weapon and plasmid to find newer combinations to deal even more efficiently with the enemies.


To those of you who haven't played bioshock 1, get it. If you enjoy a good game you would fall in love with rapture and its citizens (not literally of course, the citizens are pretty ugly).

The second game only felt like a perfect continuation of the storyline and events, filling you in on more history and somehow connecting you even deeper with the characters then you felt in the first game.


I suggest anyone who is looking for a good new game should buy it, its worth every penny.

Viral marketing much? Bioshock was a good game, but best game I've ever played? No. Deus Ex, Max Payne 2, Morrowind... just to name a few that impressed me much more. Also, the design of the Big Daddy in Bioshock 2 is a blatant Bomberman ripoff! It looks almost exactly like Bomberman's head and hands!

Bioshock 1 is definately a good game. I'm playing it atm. I'm gonna get Bioshock 2, but right now it's kind of expensive, and Pink said something was fucked up with the saving... sooo...

ehhh, the first Bioshock for me, wasn't that great. It was creepy, but I got bored half way through the game. BioShock 2 looks a bit more interesting than the first, is the mulit player any fun?

I shouldn't be doing that, okay, and I can't really make any excuses. One thing that I can be quite sure of though is that probably over half of this forum have pirated one thing or another, whether it just be some small software, or an OS, or using a cracked serial key, or something. There really isn't any difference between doing that, and a game. Bioshock 2 was just released, yes, but still, there is no difference between pirating software or a game that came out 5 years ago, than pirating one that came out a few days ago, you are still stealing, be it that the price or lower or not.

Overall, I have no good reason, but yeah, before people start having a go at me for doing such things, think about stuff you have downloaded before illegally.

actually there is a difference. i'm pretty sure most the people who worked on this game, its their only job. software online is usually something people do on the side.

imo, its only ok-ish if someone pirates a game that's for 20 or less on steam (or if its not found on steam and no longer in stores), simply because its outdated and not worth much anymore. you could prolly buy it used for $5 at that point.

Seriously Updated version of microsoft paint. With over 9000 downloadable custom plugins off the forums, i like it a whole lot better then photoshop. It's also free.... hummmm....

Pirating is bad, it's been bad and it forever will be bad.

But i find that pirating in all honesty is more or less overall Beneficial to companies, instead of being bad for them.


A Few Examples,

Myself, i grabbed the first Bioshock questionably, then after i enjoyed it immensely (oh god i loved that game) i set out a promise that i would go to any length to purchase a copy of the second game. Luckily steam offered a free legit copy of the first game with bioshock 2, so i'm happily in the green now, and i feel that 2k games has recieved one more paying customer, because i was able to fall in love with them for free.

Second Example

Microsoft word, lolololololol. Shit costs 200$ or something when you buy the entire pack, Microsoft has it impossible to actually get a good copy of word without buying the entire pack, so you're stuck with invalid formats and shit.

So people pirate it, grab it for free online. Because face it, every single fucking student in the world uses microsoft word to complete the mandatory schoolwork. It's just a pain in the ass not to have it.

Meaning that instead of masses of people searching for an alternative (which will always end up in a free version being created)
Millions of people pirated microsoft word, meaning that many people will continue to use it, and it will continue to be dominant.

So microsoft Gets more money in the longrun *Rage*

k so, actually atm you can get a beta of microsoft office 2010, completely free. and it doesn't seem to have any major bugs, it works fine for me.

actually the devs get hardly any money per sold copy, (unless they publish the game themselves, which is not the case with bioshock 2) most goes to the publisher and retailer. More sold copies just make it more likely that the publisher finances a sequel,and bioshock 2 will still sell well enough for that. Btw, a game being pirated 5 days after release is pretty late by todays standards. And imo pirating a NEW 20$ game like kf where a small dev publishes its own game on steam is worse, because small indie studios REALLY do need the money.

Anyway, yeah I pirated a lot of things back in the day, and I still do here and there. I pirated Postal 2, System Shock, Doom, Swat 4 and a whole bunch of other games. My main rule is that I rarely ever pirate any modern games, only older games that you cant really find, although I do occasionally break that rule, but usually I do so for testing purposes. After all, Game requirements are getting a tad ridiculous nowadays even though most games look the exact same as they did two years ago. But thats mainly due to lazy console-to-PC ports.

I noticed some of the same things.

Bioshock 2 is sooo crazy. You can talk about it for hours and still not understand it.
