Good day!

This topics purpose here is to suggest about maps that should be added or removed from our favorite ZM servers.

I'll go ahead and post a list of maps I feel that need to be removed, along with a short reason why.

zm_hehe_v3
- too ugly, too short

zm_icicle_b2
- fail map, boring, ugly and short

zm_item_fight
- boring, wow banshees are bikes, hulks are sofas -.-

zm_mouse_alpha4
- boring, short, god who is it that creates maps like this?

zm_nightofthelivingdead_b7
- boring, no real objectives, just survive 10 mins

zm_owl_v2
- wow, survive 6 mins in a small ice cave ...

zm_retreat_v3
- yawn, survive several minutes ..

zm_rg_supermetroid_a3fix
- did I mention failmap?

zm_rg_ghz_b2
- sets mat_fullbright 1 on clients and doesn't reset

zm_urban_underworld_a2 (?)
- although it's not a too bad map, it's to short really

zm_wilderness
- only objective is to survive 5 mins in a retarded house

zm_actualtetris4_fix
- 4dtetris replaces this

zm_forestroad
- ZM can use a map bug that allows him to spawn hundreds of banshees

zm_canyon
Massive bloom abuse + serious fps issues

zm_baltic
To short (Survive for 5 mins or something) + the map is to small

deathrun_tp_percolate_oreo_b1
- although some people may like this map, it makes players get stuck into each other, making them die after several seconds.

zm_barricade_b5_d
- bad map with no real objective other than boring survival for 10 mins.

- no real objectives, map can't be won. So I removed it meanwhile.


zm_onesmallshamble_b9
Unfortunately this map started to crash the servers recently.
Would be really bad, since it's kind of a good map and isn't played too often, like other maps (overplayed tetris ones.. )
Anyways, please report back whenever you play this map, if it crashes or not.



now it's up to you to give me opinions why I shouldn't remove any of these, or why I should remove certain other maps, along with a reason why.

I agree with all of those you suggested, although, I wouldnt mind puting ghz into the "test" or "old maps" folder so we can load it.

I say we remove forestroad aswell, people can spam so many banshees, and its just sucky.

What about actualtetris4_fix? We have 4dtetris which is about the same thing really?

ok, added actualtetris and forestroad.
Although I like the anti-camper traps Sammy added to actualtetris, these are probably the reason why people stopped voting all the time for this map.
What I like about forestroad and it's exploit is, that many noobs get killed. Makes it kind of a fun map, least to me. xD
But yeah, people could always just camp outside and wait for others to win and get points for doing nothing but camping then. So let's remove that map as well.

The AFK traps are good, yes, but the water rising somewhat makes people rush, as otherwise they will drown sooner or later xD

It's always fun to respawn everyone when the first level is under :P cause they can still make it if they hurry. and respawning is fun for that map because as long as one person wins. they all win(ish)
but I agree with cherry. the water trap is really fun to start off then respawn and re-separate the noobs from the goo players xD

zm_barricade... or if I got the name wrong, the map where survivors try to protect a green skull from the zombies.
-Most people go there and give the skull away to the zombies for easy points. In other words- Point Farming.

nuuuuuuuuuuuuu not forestroad! :( you can avoid most of the banshees by staying on the crates before the gate...and make a desperate run through for the door through the banshees later on!
and canyon...excessive use as bloom as reason to remove a map? cmon...just change your settings,that will give you better FPS,too xD

I know you love that map Cherry, so I would prefer not to remove it.
What makes people get stuck and die tho isn't the spawn, but some other things, like the teleport after the first part.
Also, people don't move out of spawn fast enough, since right after there is the first trap. So they camp until that trap has been used, and therefore, on a full server, are blocking off others who can't really move out of spawn then. Meanwhile the spawntrap activates, and nearly everyone dies.


Not sure about zm_donkey.
Granted it sucks when everyone but a single survivor dies every round, since people are greedy for points and want to win.
But then, I love that map to drive off noobs who would vote for the same failmaps over and over again, just because they have "tetris" "mario" or "donkey" in their name.


I personally never had any FPS issues with zm_canyon.
What made me agree with Fucia this map needs to be removed is, that it can crash peoples clients regularly, due to it's excessive use of shader effects.
There have been times when I couldn't even join a server that had zm_canyon playing, without instantly crashing. And that is really annoying.

Added zm_barricade_b5_d to the list.

-Crappy, short map with many, many mistakes.
-If the idol falls into the pit, the survivors are screwed. (I don't think it's fixed, but I'm not sure)

still crashes the server unfortunately. Just tested and it crashed.

I can't come up with a reason for you not to remove them, actually I think you should remove them because many of those maps are filled with flaws. Sometimes they just seem like half-finished works. rabbit

zm_uphill_struggle is a short but nice map. It's not on the servers anymore though, for a good reason. There is one trap the ZM can trigger, which is supposed to blur the survivors vision for 30 seconds. If the ZM triggers that trap right before the round ends, the blurred vision will stay for everyone, for the whole time of the following round. And to make it even worse, the blurry screen effect doesn't work for all players, they get a total black screen instead, much like a full sm_blind.
Another glitch in that map would be, one survivor could use the dynamite objective to prop jump up the hill, so all others didn't have any chance of reaching the top anymore.

In addition to what Indigo said, the map tends to crash after a while, sometimes it can take 10+ rounds for it to crash, but other times it crashes after a few rounds
